Information about the organization

The Republican Rehabilitation Center for disabled children was built in 2000 according to a special project with a true idea – "barrier-free environment", as part of the implementation of the Program of the President "Children of Belarus" in the system of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, which is a social institution whose purpose is to conduct social, medical rehabilitation, habilitation and adaptation of disabled children from 3 to 18 years with pathology of the musculoskeletal system against the background of diseases of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems.

First of all, 80% of disabled children who are in rehabilitation (who are in the Center's base) are children with cerebral palsy of varying severity. In this disease, motor functions and, above all, the ability to move independently suffer.

The Center is constantly working on improving and introducing innovative methods of physical rehabilitation and habilitation, thereby increasing the rehabilitation potential of disabled children. One of the leading directions in the rehabilitation of disabled children is the social orientation of the events held at the Center.

Project purpose

The activities of the State Institution "Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children" mirror the tasks in the global approach to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals program. This is the place where the Sustainable Development Goals of Belarus, such as "Good health and well-being", "Quality education" and the main 17 goal - "Partnership for Sustainable Development" have received their practical implementation. The purchase of a specially equipped minibus designed to transport disabled children to the Center, which is equipped with a lift and wheelchair mounts, is a contribution to the realization of the rights of children with disabilities, as well as an opportunity to fully

realize the social orientation of rehabilitation measures. The presence of a minibus will allow the transportation of children for the purpose of visiting exhibitions, excursions and other diverse events, which is a prerequisite for the integration and adaptation of a disabled child in society.

Justification of the project

Taking into account the fact that 80% of those in rehabilitation are children suffering from cerebral palsy, having various degrees of impaired motor activity, including disabled children with the 4th degree of loss of health who cannot move independently, it became necessary to purchase a specially equipped minibus for transporting children with musculoskeletal pathology. Equipping the Center with special transport will make it possible to fully realize the social orientation of the rehabilitation activities carried out in the Center.

Having the opportunity to transport disabled children, the specialists of our Center will be able to fully provide not only an entertaining, but also an educational program, thereby expanding the horizons of each child. And this, in turn, will favorably affect the processes of thinking, sensory perception and the general level of intellectual and speech development.

This kind of transportation is aimed at wheelchair users with disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Therefore, for safe and comfortable transportation, the minibus must be equipped with a special lift, wide swing doors, seat belts for each passenger and wheelchair mounts inside the cabin.
